The rally, that took place on the region of ancient Olympia home of the ancient Olympic games, gathered large numbers of rally fans. All competitors described the rally as very tough for the cars and extremely technical for the crews, and this resulted in many retirements. The Ford Fiesta JWRC crew, that is backed by Ford Motor Hellas and sponsored by JetOil, retired on the second special stage due to steering rack failure. Lambros commented after the rally: We were very well prepared for this race, but the steering rack failure didn’t allow us to finish. The car setup was perfect and that was a result of the co-operation of our engineers with M-Sport and the extensive testing we did before the start of the season. We are confident that the new parts that M-Sport has developed for the car, will make it better and reliable and give us the chance to prove that it is capable of winning in any event.
